My “digital life” began at the end of the 90’s with installing debian slink on my computer. As a Linux beginner I didn’t even know how to compile a kernel or load a module. So for a lot of time (maybe 3 months) I wasn’t able to surf on the internet with my newly installed debian, because I didn’t know how to load my network card’s module, until I figured out after a lot of reading. That’s how I learned a lot of Linux, reading, reading and more reading
I discovered a lot of good features of debian, like the console. I was wondering, that I was able to do almost everything on the console, so I decided first to learn everything about the console and its shell and maybe later to put a graphical interface (X-Window) on it.
In the beginning of the 21st century, I was already an “advanced” debian user
That means, that I spent a lot of my spare time in front of my computer, discovering the endless possibilities of the open-source environment and community. In advance of this, I decided to share my knowledge with other users and I began to write tutorials and howtos. To publish these writings I had to make a website (well, blogging wasn’t popular at this time). To make this more dynamic I made a PHP/MySQL based little CMS with my own design and code.
That’s the short story about the way to my hobby of web-developing. If you wish to ask me some things, please visit my Contact page and send me a message.
